How to Improve Spelling With Tutoring
Spelling has been hard for me but tutoring helped me with that. I was worried that I would spell things wrong, so I did not write as much because I didn’t want to be wrong. I was afraid that people will think I am dumb.
Then I got better from tutoring with the activities we did in tutoring. Now I am not afraid to spell things wrong because I am better at sounding out words. My writing has become longer and has more details because I use fancier words, so you can visualize what I am thinking.
The most helpful activity was word study. In this activity, I broke words apart to find smaller words and syllables inside to read long words. One of my favorite activities was Word Ladders. It was fun to guess the words. I also liked that I had a choice of the book that we read. So, I liked the book and wanted to read more. When we read short stories, I liked them. The questions after these stories were fun and made me pay attention. Now you know why tutoring is so very helpful.
